Raising Children requires Courage especially if you are Refugee.
Raising children is a challenging task in any circumstance, but it becomes even more complicated when families find themselves in refugee situations. The absence of normalcy and the loss of familiar support systems, relatives, friends, and community can create additional struggles for parents and caregivers.
Pakistani Christian Parents are very affectionate and devoted for their childrens well being .As a Refugee the familiarity of their lives is gone. No more Christmas and Easter Celebrations. No more big birthday parties at grandparents house. No more month long celebrations in December Singing and Listening to Preaching daily and marching with candles on the Streets and singing Praises to God to Celebrate the Birth of Christ. These fond memories add to the sadness but also bind people together.
Another significant challenge faced by parents in Refugee situations is the absence of support systems. In their home countries, families often rely on extended family members, friends, and neighbors for assistance and guidance in raising their children. Their friends and family members share the joys and sorrows of life together. Interacting daily over food and cup of tea.
In Refugee situation all that is gone and they face intense loneliness with nowhere to go. Their strong support networks are gone and they must stay positive for the sake of the children.
Despite the numerous challenges, parents in Refugee situations demonstrate incredible resilience and put out real effort in navigating their life and trying to find positive solutions.
Most Refugee parents band together to start simple Refugee Schools to create some sort of structure and normalcy to their children. Their lesson plans might be very simple and only teach very basic things but the parents do their best to teach English, Math, Science etc.
Going to the Refugee School is risky because they cannot walk freely outside and could potentially end up in prison but for the sake of the children they take buses and go to School so their children would have something positive in their life.
Raising Children in Refugee situations is heart breaking to the parents.
Many feel guilty that they cannot provide better life for their children. All the Parents wish to have freedom to take their children to the Park and do fun things together but they cannot and it causes sadness . They realize how much their children are missing.
Refugee Families need our Prayers.
They need Support while living in their impossible circumstances.
