When a good, honest man goes to Jail- we should all cry
Our Hearts are Crying for Brother John in Jail … We Pray for him and ask for your Prayers
We are very sad today. One of our refugee families received the worst news any refugee family could receive. The father of this family was taken to Jail. This is the daily fear for all our Refugee Families. His daughter is crying for her father and wondering when he will come back. There is no telling about the outcome of this Crises . Thailand Refugees have no legal Protection from any direction. This is their reality.
His Image is added to the end of this message. Please Pray for John -for Freedom
People might ask us to contact United Nations Refugee Committee in Thailand . But reality is that they do not get involved with Thai laws and legal system. But they do reject 99 % of all Christian Refugees when they apply for Refugee Status . They are silently on the background while many families are starving and trying to figure how to pay their monthly rent. Our families do not get medical care or educational funds for their children, either.
One International Charity come to Thailand few times a year and offers $ 50 for some families for food. The reality is that no one can feed a family for $ 50 a month.
It takes about $ 200 a month to feed family of five and $ 200 dollars a month to pay rent. And then someone offers our families $ 50 dollars few times a year…..
Total cost monthly for family of five : $ 400 Canadian and believe me, they do not live in a lap of luxury. It just covers their very basic needs.
Another International Charity comes to Thailand and offer a family $ 100 as a gift .Take few Photos and afterwards they take half of it back. I do not like that. Our families do not like it either, but what can they do ?
I read a headline about a father grieving for his son who died at age 38 . This story was such a huge contrast to our Refugee issues. This person had lived a very good, sheltered life .So protected from evil and his father cried for him. He had his son for 38 years and they enjoyed pleasures of life together. You wonder were they even thankful ? I don’t know . They had such a long time together. Enjoying life, creating good memories . But my question was : were they even thankful ?
But I do know that not many cry for Pakistani Refugees in Thailand. They have mothers and fathers, too and if they go offer interviews nobody shows interest. Such a contrast to people in the Western world and Christian Refugees in Thailand living in fear for 10-20 years and nobody blinks an eye.
I am really concerned for our lack of care and also for not being thankful for the good things we have
I am concerned that someone visit refugees in Thailand – twice a year and thinks giving them $ 50 dollars makes a big difference. Maybe they forgot that people need food daily. Not just twice a year. The man who ended up in Jail this week -is a very good man. He and his family have suffered untold misery for years and he is in Jail for no other reason but for being a Refugee and on top of that being a Christian Refugee.
One pastor said ,he prefers not to get involved because he does not want to give false hope to Refugees in Thailand. He lives in safety and can sleep in peace each night, while in Thailand each Refugee knows Police can bust right through the door and take the whole family to Jail ,any time.
Giving Support and Showing we care is not giving false hope. It is critical. It is the least we can do. Yes.it is true we cannot give guarantees that we can get them all out of Thailand- but at least -we can help them carry the burden. At least they know they are not alone.
False Hope – and Giving Support are two different things. Christian Refugees are part of the Body of Christ and God’s People need to stand up and offer support to their brothers and sisters in Christ
I encourage you to watch YouTube videos on “Christian Refugees in Thailand ‘ Those videos tell the story very clearly and show what their life is like. BBC has made documentaries on Pakistani Christians in Thailand and other News networks as well.
If your Church or Business would want to Sponsor a Refugee families ,the living expenses for a family of five would be $ 400 / month. Any amount is appreciated and received with a Thankful heart.
Our Donations Page offers options in how you can help. We will send you Tax Receipt for Donations received. Thank you for listening and thank you for praying for our families
