Whispers of Grace and Gift of Peace
Bible tells us a story about Moses in the desert. He saw a burning bush and heard God talking to him from the fire . God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses ” Moses said, “Here I am.” God said to Moses “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob ”
At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God. Do you think God was in a business of scaring people ? No he was not. He was on a mission to do something special. Something unique that had never been done before. He had a Plan to help his people.
The Lord said “I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them out of that land .Here we see what God is saying :
I AM A GOD WHO SEES
I AM THE GOD WHO HEARS
I AM A GOD WHO CARES
I AM A GOD WHO WANTS TO HELP
Did you hear that ? Did you see God’s Heart ?
Whispers of Grace that day was more like Shouts of Grace. I am here. I know what is going on and I am about to change things. God was not asking if Moses agreed. Or if he was ready or even willing. He simply said..I will bring them out. You can read the whole story in the Bible and learn how God can change things Exodus 1- 16 chapters
1.Kings 19 : tells us about the Prophet Elijah. In this chapter we learn that Elijah had had the greatest confrontation with the powers of darkness and he was spent emotionally, spiritually and physically and simply wanted to hide in the cave and give up. He had had enough .
God talked to Elijah and said “What are you doing here ? “
Elijah said : I only am left and now they try to kill me. Which was true and he knew it but it was not the whole truth. It was how he saw it. God simply told him ‘ Go out and stand on the mountain in the Presence of the Lord ,for the Lord is about to pass by.”
Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire.
And after the fire came a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mouth of the cave.
Then a voice said to him, “What are you doing here, Elijah?” Second time the same question. Second time Elijah gave the same answer but this time something had changed. He realized finally WHO was talking to Him.
The GENTLE WHISPER opened his heart and he understood. People around us can turn away from God and they can turn away from us but God is always with them that trust Him.. God’s Gentle whisper awakened his tired soul to hear and to respond. God dealt with the opposition and Peace came back to his soul.
When God of Heaven talks to people , He talks gently and He brings Peace He who made the Heaven and Earth and everything in it, by the Word of His mouth , He knows his Own and He helps them. God helps His own and His own obey Him because God cares .
And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.”
Ephesians 2:17-18 From the beginning of time, God has spoken to His People. Whispers of Grace is God’s language. He loves His People. He reaches out with Love . Peace is always the result of the work of God in our hearts.
Whispers of Grace and Peace of God are our greatest gifts while we live on this earth. We must never forget that. We all have struggles and we get tired like Prophet Elijah did . We all walk through the wilderness of this earth and have many struggles but God is with us and wants to help us. Moses learned that God is not a God from afar but He is a God who wants to come near and help us.. God talks to us. He helps us and He restores us.
Isaiah 57:17-19 I have seen their ways , I will heal them. I will guide them and restore comfort to Israel’s mourners. Creating Praise on their lips. Peace ,peace to those far and near
