Oh, Come Power of the Lord

Come, oh come, Power of the Lord

God always has a Plan. Before he starts anything, he has a Plan. His plans are always good. And yes, He looks for a man or woman who would obey Him and follow His Guidance. And then things start happening.

God’s Plans turn into Miracles

Just read the Bible. Start from Genesis and keep going to the end of the Bible. You will see God has a plan and he looks for a person with a heart for God. Israelites were in Egypt for 400 years in Slavery and then God said: It is time to go ! God needed a man and He called Moses. He was not the most willing participant, but He had a healthy fear of God after his first encounter at the Burning Bush. He got the message loud and clear that it is better to do as he was told. If we obey God and follow His Leading, we will see Miracles.

Bible Records many Miracles in the life of Moses; one of the most famous miracle was:

The Red Sea Miracle: At God’s command, Moses held his Staff out over the water, water parted, and the Israelites walked through on dry land with a wall of water on either side           Ex 14: 1- 30

New Testament Records many miracles. Starting on the day of Pentecost.

God poured out His Spirit upon the new believers:  A sound like a mighty rushing wind- came from heaven and filled the entire house. Tongues, as of fire, appeared and rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. That day 3,000 people repented of their sins and turned to God. That was a good beginning for the Church era.

The Power of the Lord at work in people’s lives. Some people divide Bible into two parts. The Old Testament and New Testament. Bible is one book that tells the story of God. He is the God of Israel-and He revealed Himself to people by His Word and His Actions. He is a Loving God who was willing to communicate with people. God never changed from Old Testament God- to- a different God in the New Testament. He is always the same God, He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He shows His heart, His care and His Plan to those who commit their whole heart to him. He will guide them and help them in all their troubles.

God’s Work in our lives start when we commit our hearts to Him completely

The Old Testament Prophecies came to fulfillment in Christ Jesus -on His finished work on the Cross   It was a full circle. God gave Prophecies to the Israelites, and he brings into Fulfillment every Prophecy. We have some Prophecies that have not come to fulfillment as yet and they are the “End Time Prophecies” We are starting to see the beginning of the fulfillment of those Prophesies.

God’s Word will be fulfilled. None of His Words will fall to the ground. His Plan for all of mankind will come to fulfillment in the Second Coming of Christ.

God will do nothing without speaking to His Prophets first. God declares His Plan ahead of time and eventually we see it coming to Fruition. If you read the Bible, you will see it very clearly. The Church as we know it, was born on a Day of Pentecost. The book of Acts records that the apostles, filled with the Holy Spirit, preached the Word of God. The Word of God was preached with such Power that one occasion 5,000 people turned to the Lord.

This was the Foundation for the Work of the Lord. We need the Power of the Holy Spirit to fulfill God’s purposes in our lives.

God will do His work with the Power of the Holy Spirit. Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of Hosts                                                                                   Zech 4:6   Acts 4 :4 Acts 2:41

How does this tie to us and our walk with the Lord today ?

If we want to fulfill the Plan of God in our life – we need to be filled with the Holy Spirit and Power. We cannot fulfill God’s Will in our own strength and power. As humans we run out of strength pretty fast. Our wisdom and understanding on most things are very limited. We seriously need the Lord. We must never pretend we can do all things in our own strength. We simply Cannot. We need the Holy Spirit to guide us. To teach us and give us insight into every situation.
